30 October Capresso C1000 is back in the house! The Capresso C1000 was delivered at 3:09 p.m. and signed for by Irina. So, we may have espresso and cappuccino this evening!
Day 15 without Capresso C1000 may be the last The Capresso C1000 wasn't due to be back in Montgomery until Tuesday, October 31, but it looks like it may be delivered back to us tonight. I'll keep you posted.
Tracking results provided by UPS: 10/30/2006 2:46 P.M. EST (USA) 26 October Day 11 without Capresso C1000Capresso finally repaired my C1000 after having my unit for a full week! I am a little irked, miffed, vexed, and irritated that it took a full week to get my unit repaired. Hopefully they did an excellent job. So, it was finished, packed, and picked-up by UPS today. With 3 business days for UPS Ground shipping, I will receive it back on Tuesday, October 31. Happy Halloween, I get my Capresso back. It just started it's path back to me. We'll keep an eye on it in my blog until it is back in Montogmery and brewing espresso once again!
25 October Day 10 without Capresso C1000I called Capresso on Monday & Tuesday evening. Both days the customer service ladies showed that Capresso had my C1000, but that it was still being repaired. The customer service woman from last night said that she would call the repair center today and get an estimate on when it will be ready. At this point with 3-day ground shipping, if they send it back today, it won't get to Montgomery until Monday! Yuck!
I have been drinking Cafe Bustello made in the French Press each morning. This is good and it is holding me over, but I still miss the Capresso. It is much more convenient. I'll update y'all when I hear back from Capresso. 19 October Day 4 without Capress C1000: It arrives @ Capresso My Capresso C1000 arrived at the Capresso repair facility in Manheim, Pennsylvania this morning. Now, Capresso gets to work repairing it. Something interesting happened with the UPS routing, though. On Tueseday, October 17 at 10:13 a.m, the Capresso C1000 left Fishersville, Virgina. It later arrived in Greensboro, NC at 6:47 .m. on Tuesday. Well, then it left Greensboro, NC at 1:46 a.m. on Wednesday only to go right back to Fishersville, Viriginia at 6:18 a.m. on Wednesday. It then left Fishersville, Virginia at 9:47 a.m. on Wednesday and finally arrived in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania at 9:22 a.m. today. I may be curious enough to call UPS to find out why they sent the package from Fishersville, Virgina to Greensboro, NC only to have it come right back to Fishersville, Virgina. It seems like you could have saved a day if it hadn't gone back and forth to Greensboro, NC.
Day 3 without Capresso C1000Wednesday marked the end of the espresso brewed from the Capresso C1000. I am now relegated to drip coffee for the next 7-8 days. Will I survive? Stay tuned to find out. 17 October Day 2 without the Capresso C1000It is Day 2 without the Capresso C1000. The package is scheduled to arrive in Manheim, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 19. Right now, it is past Fishersville, Virginia. I hope they are able to fix it quickly. I still have about 5 cups of the espresso I made on Sunday before packing it up. I have enough for one more thermos on Wednesday. Then, I am stuck with nothing but drip coffee until the Capresso comes back.
Tracking results provided by UPS: 10/17/2006 2:42 P.M. EST (USA) 16 October Day 1 without the Capresso C1000After delaying for about 4 weeks, I finally broke down and packed up our Capresso C1000 and shipped it off via UPS to Capresso's repair facility in Manheim, Pennsylvania. Prior to packing it up, I brewed about 9 cups of triple-strength coffee that I'm storing in my refrigerator to cover my espresso addiction for at least a couple days. It is 3 days for ground service from Montgomery, Alabama to Manheim, Pennsylvania. So, they will receive the Capresso on Thursday, October 19. If they can repair it in 2 days, it will be shipped back to me on Monday, October 23 and I can be back in espresso by Thursday, October 26 after yoga class. In the best case, they'll have it ready to ship back to me on Friday, October 20 and I can see my Capresso back to me by Wednesday, October 25.
More details to come .... Day 1 without the Capresso C1000March 8, 2006
Capresso Inc. is recalling about 28,000 espresso machines because of a fire hazard.
The recall is for the C1000 Capresso Automatic Coffee Center. The electrical connectors in the espresso machine can erode, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received four reports of fires starting inside the coffee center. No injuries or property damage were reported. The espresso machines have C1000 printed in large type on the front panel and model number 152 printed on the bottom of the machine. These machines grind, compact ground coffee, pressure brew, stop automatically, and discard used coffee grounds. They can also dispense hot water for tea and hot steam to froth and steam milk. The units were sold at department stores and independent specialty stores nationwide from July 1999 through October 2005 for about $800. Consumers should stop using the recalled espresso machines immediately and contact Capresso to arrange for a free repair. |
